The Feature Film project Nurse.Fighter.Boy recently took home one award and had 7 additional nominations at this year’s Genie Awards. ‘Oh Love,’ by John Welsman and Cheri Camp, won the Genie Award for Best Original Song. Nurse.Fighter.Boy was also nominated for Best Motion Picture, Achievement in Direction, Best Original Screenplay, Best Leading Actor and Actress, Best Cinematography and Best Costume Design.

We would like to congratulate the many Genie Award winners and nominees that were supported by The Harold Greenberg Fund. In particular, we would like to congratulate Joshua Jackson who won Best Leading Actor for his performance in One Week. Liane Balaban was also nominated for her performance as Best Supporting Actress in the film.

This year was the 30th annual Genie Awards. The Academy of Canadian Cinema & Television serves to unify the country’s film industry by honouring and showcasing outstanding achievements in Canadian cinema with this annual presentation of The Genie Awards.
